Cheyenne-Arapaho and Long's Pine Grove Master Planning

Located in the urbanized northwest corner of Arapahoe County, within what is called the “Four Square Mile Neighborhood”, two County-owned parks will be master-planned to pave the way for improvements that will provide new (or improved) community recreational resources to enhance the daily lives of County residents.

This multi-faceted project involves the master planning, detailed design, and eventual construction of improvements at both parks (the existing Cheyenne-Arapaho Park and the new Long’s Pine Grove Park), a process which is intended to dovetail with the March, 2015 Four Square Mile Recreation Needs and Opportunities Assessment .

Demolition Work Updates

On Monday, August 14, demolition work began on the Longs Pine Grove Open Space within the Four Square Mile Neighborhood. The County’s contractor will begin with asbestos removal and then move on to selective tree removal.

Expect to see large equipment staged at the property in the coming weeks. This equipment is in support of the full demolition which is planned for the end of August / beginning of September. The full demolition project will include the removal of the house.

The demolition is part of a multi-faceted project supporting the citizen recommendations established in the 2015 Four Square Mile Recreation Needs and Opportunities Assessment. These activities will pave the way for improvements that will provide new (or improved) outdoor recreation opportunities which enhance the daily lives of County residents.
