Classes and Workshops
The Community and Child Support Services Division now offers free classes and workshops to all individuals receiving services through Human Services.

Fatherhood Engagement Class provides parenting and nurturing skills to dads. This class proves to help promote healthy family relationships that also supports child development. This program is a three week session held Tuesdays and Thursday from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and is offered to any client who is a father and receives services through Arapahoe County Human Services. The Fatherhood Engagement Program Classes are held in the Legacy Room at 14980 E. Alameda Drive, Aurora. Lunch is provided to clients for each class as well as movie tickets and a certificate upon completion.
Motherhood class helps moms learn communication strategies, stress and time management skills and how to develop a healthy self-concept. This is a four week session offered to any mom who receives services from Arapahoe County Human Services. Classes are held 11a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Fridays in the Legacy Room at 14980 E. Alameda Drive, Aurora. Lunch is provided along with a $50 gift card and certificate upon completion.
Relationship Skills Workshop offers strategies to improve communication skills and provides lessons to help create and maintain healthy relationships whether it be a friend, significant other, or your child. This workshop is open to anyone 18 and over. Workshops are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Legacy Room at 14980 E. Alameda Drive, Aurora. Lunch is provided along with a $25 gift card and certificate upon completion.
Parenting Class is a court-approved class facilitated by Families First to help moms and dads discover some proven methods for cutting down on the frustration of being a parent in today's hectic world. The class focuses on how to deal with anger appropriately, relate with compassion and communicate to solve problems. Parenting class is a three week course held quarterly on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and is FREE for individuals receiving services through Arapahoe County Human Service and $60 per person or $90 for couples outside of Human Services. Classes are held in the Legacy Room at 14980 E. Alameda Drive, Aurora. This class satisfies court-approved requirement for parenting class and certificates are provided upon completion.
Legal Clinics are basically FREE legal advice from attorneys. Attorneys donate time to help clients primarily with parenting time issues. Clients receive instruction from Attorneys regarding correct documents to file with Court depending on the circumstances. The legal clinic is held the last Friday of each month from 8 - 11 a.m. in the Legacy Room at 14980 E. Alameda Drive, Aurora.
Grandparent-2-Guardian Class is a FREE opportunity for grandparents who are in a guardianship position. This class is an excellent way to receive the resources grandparents need, including community support and we will offer help in problem solving so grandparents don't feel like they are alone in this journey. 2018 classes are held at Arapahoe County Human Services in May, June, July, August and September.
